A couple of endo-safe salad dressings

Jazzy tahini dressing

It is always nice to zing up your salad with a great dressing.  Many shop bought dressings have lots of additives, sugar, or unwanted ingredients.  Here are a couple of great salad dressing recipes which will not compromise your diet if you are trying to follow the diet for endometriosis.

You will need to use a blender to make the tomato vinaigrette recipe, but once you have one you will get lots of use out of it.

Jazzy Tahini Dressing

Gluten free, dairy free, sugar free

¾  cup / 210ml sesame seeds soaked (3 hours) - blend seeds along with soak water until fairly smooth

Mix the seeds together with:

  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Garlic to your taste
  • tbs or so ginger powder
  • ½ cup / 140ml olive oil
  • Maple syrup to taste
  • About ¼ cup / 70ml apple juice

That's it - done!  Store any left-overs in fridge and use within a couple of days

Tomato Vinaigrette

Gluten free, sugar free, dairy free

  • 2/3rds cup / 160 ml (approx) tomato juice (bottled from store – without added ingredients - especially sugar)
  • 3 tsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 tsp onion salt
  • 10 leaves of fresh basil or tarragon
  • 1 tbs tamari
  • Freshly ground black pepper

Blend all the ingredients together in a food processor or blender, then season to taste.  That's it - ready to use.  Store in the fridge any you do not use and eat within a week - the vinegar will preserve this sauce.
