Me too
by: Candice

Hi, I have catamenial hemoptysis, endometriosis in my lungs. I cough up blood when I menstruate. Since trying hormones to suppress it, my body is rejecting the hormones and causes me to bleed still. I haven't coughed up blood, but am still getting the shortness of breath, and "cramps" in my lungs. At this point I believe we are just hoping hormones will work. However, I may need to have it cut out of my lungs as well.

I am having my first laparoscopy in one day. Then we will know extent of it in pelvic region. I was diagnosed because I only cough up blood when menstruating, have symptoms when menstruating and ct scans show a ground glass opacity when I'm bleeding. When I'm not, it disappears but sometimes will show nodules.

After a bronchoscopy determined everything was "normal" and my symptoms are cyclical, I was diagnosed with this disease. I cannot believe how little awareness is out there about this disease, and how debilitating it is. I am only 25 years old. Seek a pulmonoligist and have ct scans performed when bleeding for a definitive answer.

Maybe Diaphragm Involvement?
by: Lizzie

I have endometriosis on my diaphragm and have similar severe chest pain and respiratory symptoms to what you are describing. It also causes referred pain in my shoulder, arms and hands. I'm about to go in for surgery to have it removed along with the involved parts of my bowel. I feel your pain - best wishes!

Possible rib out of place!
by: Anonymous

Have you been to a chiropractor? It sounds like you may have a rib out of place which can feel like a knife is being twisted in the middle of your back (not really the front & not really the back - but right in the middle) especially when you take deep breaths

You need to get your symptoms checked
by: Jenny

I can only imagine how frightened you must be with having endometriosis and now you are having pains in the lung and cannot breath.

Personally I would go and see my doctor and get this checked out as endometriosis in the lungs can be quite serious.

I hope your doctor can give you some answers to your pain and can help to relieve it.

Hugs,
Jenny
