My own endo story

30yrs on and still no quicker at diagnosing endometriosis!

by A
(Somerset UK)

I am now 55 and suffered with endometriosis as a teenager which carried on into my adult life with nobody being able to diagnose the problem until I was in my late 20's, despite the fact that there was a history of it in my family.

I now have a 22yr old daughter who has for the past 8yrs been suffering the same symptoms, I really cannot believe that medicine hasn't moved on and is not diagnosing endometriosis and taking it as a serious problem.

My daughter is just going through all the same rigmaroll as i did over 30 years ago - WHY?
